The Matador Beast28 rolls up into a storage bag about the size of a JetBoil stove. I’ve been in that situation where I was […]
Carrying a concealed fixed blade knife, or even carrying a knife at all for personal defense is somewhat of a controversial issue depending on where you live and who you talk to. I have heard both sides and understand where both are coming from. I’ve also been through formal training for carrying and properly bringing […]

Approach shoes fill a needed gap between hiking and rock climbing boots. Perfect for those adventures on the trail that may lead to some light rock exploration. Any woman who calls herself a watch geek has found herself frustrated at one time or another with diamond overload when looking for the next piece to add to the rotation. Sure, blinged-out bezels and hot pink details can be nice, but the female watch hound is not always looking for something frilly. On the […]
The third iteration of the Trident AT from Studies and Observations Group is a great pocket knife for first responders or to keep in the car for emergency situations. It comes in a few different blade profiles and colors. I happened to get my hands on the updated Red and Black Tanto blade before it […]

Executive Protection Admin Bag I’ve been using the Executive Protection Admin Bag for the past few years for both my professional and personal needs. I’m not usually a fan of sling bags as they never seem to ride comfortably for me. This bag is the exception for me, though. The bag was designed by Aaron […]
I recently received the upcoming SOG Flash AT Assisted Opening Folding Knife for review. It’s the third iteration of the constantly evolving SOG Flash II that’s expected to drop in May 2020. I’ve owned knives from Studies and Observations Group and have always appreciated the high quality at a great price point. A few things […]
I got this idea a few years ago from a post that Kyle Defoor published on his Tumblr Blog. His was more of a last-ditch crash kit that he hoped never needed to be used. I took that idea and ran with it for my own personal survival kit. This is the kit that gets thrown […]
One thing I really like is a product that works as advertised. Yeti has been producing well-engineered products for years now. I’ve been a fan and continue to stand behind their products. We all know how well the Rambler line-up holds in heat or cold for most of the day. Now we have the ability […]
In Costa Rica, you’ll often hear the word Tico amongst the locals. Almost as often as the phrase Pura Vida or “pure life”. They proudly refer to Costa Rican males as Ticos and for the females, Ticas. Costa Del Mar recently introduced a new frame under the same moniker. This masculine wrapped frame is a […]
alsoMe and this backpack could be singing “I’ve been everywhere man,” in unison. In the last few months, I’ve taken the Yeti Crossroads backpack down plenty of long roads. From Vegas and SHOT Show to controlled burns and expeditions through the woods, water, and city. It’s become my go-to choice for a daypack for a […]
In an ideal world, avid skiers would own half a dozen pairs of skis or so. Colorfully lining a dedicated wall in the Garage. One for high-speed carving on those bluebird groomer days. Another GS ski for the local club or beer league races. A fat pair of skis for those sloppy second days when […]
