Thoughts on the new 5.11 Tactical RUSH12 Version 2.0 Pack

August 15, 2023 by Art Dorst Leave a Comment

RUSH12

I’ve been using an earlier version of the 5.11 RUSH12 backpack as my EDC and travel pack for the past two years. And it’s definitely one of my favorites.

At the beginning of 2021 5.11 announced their updated line of RUSH packs, the 2.0 series with some clever enhanced features. I was immediately interested as the new features suited my evolving requirements.

So I picked up a RUSH12 2.0 pack about 6 weeks ago during a 5.11 sale and have been using it as my daily carry pack since then. The RUSH12 2.0 has the same quality construction as the previous model with the addition of a CCW pocket behind the external admin pocket. And a padded laptop sleeve that replaces the drawstring pocket found in its predecessor.

“We kept the best parts of the original RUSH12 and upgraded other areas to create one of the most universally adaptable packs on the planet.” ~511tactical.com

Final Thoughts:

After carrying the 2.0 for about six weeks now I can report with confidence that the RUSH12 2.0 is still the perfect size EDC pack for my needs. And the new features have only improved on the original design, making it a better choice. If you’re in the market for a new pack and these new features are something that appeals to you then don’t hesitate to make the move to the new 5.11 RUSH 2.0 series of packs.
