ON SALE! $59.49 RUSH12 Backpack

Recently I was looking to downsize my travel pack. For the past few years, I’ve been running a 5.11 RUSH24. The RUSH24 is a good pack and has served me well but I wanted to scale down my carry gear and increase my mobility so I decide to transition to a 5.11 RUSH12 backpack.

  • Hydration pocket -17” x 11”
  • Total Capacity – 1476 cubic inch / 24 liter total
  • Weight – 2.6 lbs

I like the organization and quality of the RUSH24 so I figured I’d give the RUSH12 a shot. The RUSH12 is basically a scaled-down RUSH24. Looking to reduce my carry gear for travel I broke my needs down to a few basic categories. Comms and the ability to keep my phone or iPad Pro up and running. Seeing in the dark or low light. Medical and finally comfort items.

The front exterior pocket of the RUSH12 mirrors that of the RUSH24 with pockets that accommodate magazines and admin supplies. There are two lanyards with snaps for attaching keys, plus a zipper pocket for items that you don’t want inadvertently falling out.

Pockets for all your kit

Above the main exterior pocket is a small zipper pocket that is perfect for a small charger, cables and wallet while passing through security. And for other small items that you need to access quickly. The interior front panel has two mesh zipper pockets for the items that you want to access without routing through the main storage space. I use the upper pocket for my burner phone. The lower pocket usually holds a Lifestraw, small survival kit, headlamp, band-aid type medical kit, and some over the counter meds in a zip lock bag.

On the rear panel of the main compartment is a pocket with a drawstring closure. I usually stow a wind shirt and-change of underclothes.

The main compartment houses my I Pad Pro, trauma med kit, a small repair kit with riggers rubber bands, ranger bands, 550 cord, a small roll of duct tape, and a roll of electrical tape. I can also fit  Mechanix gloves, power kit with solar chargers, cables, data blockers, plugs, auto phone holder, vehicle chargers, and some other odds and ends.

Ultimate Organization in a 24L Pack

On the top of the pack, there’s a zipper compartment lined with soft material for glasses or small electronic devices. The back panel opens up and will accommodate a water bladder or ballistic panel. There are compression straps on the sides and molle webbing on the front and sides. There are a couple of Velcro panels for your favorite patch and name tape. The padded shoulder straps are comfortable and come with a sternum strap.

The RUSH12™ is a high-performance tactical pack suitable for active duty, hunting and recreation, or grab-and-go. Compatible with 5.11®’s TIER system and the Rush Tier Rifle Sleeve, the pack features unmatched storage capability, a wrap-around MOLLE and SlickStick-compatible web platform, adjustable shoulder and sternum straps, a 60-oz. hydration pocket, and durable, water-resistant construction. It’s a back pack built to be ready for anything. ~511tactical.com

I really like this pack it’s compact, has good organization, holds all your essentials, and carries comfortably. I’d really like to see the RUSH series packs come just as they are but without the molle on them.
