Range Ready Bag from Professional Life Support Products

November 6, 2023 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

Range Ready Bag

A successful day on the shooting range starts with bringing the right gear. It starts at home organizing your kit. Packing the correct caliber of ammunition, magazines, hearing protection, optics, range finder, pistols, etc. Owning a range bag capable of carrying what you need in an organized manner ensures you arrive at the range ready to train. The Range Ready Bag from Professional Life Support Products is a good choice that won’t break the bank.

PLSP Range Ready Bag Video Overview:

Made in the Good ‘Ole USA

Made in the USA and designed by firemen and life support professionals, PLSP offers a full range of Firefighter kit bags. The Range Ready Bag is designed with Law Enforcement and civilian shooters in mind. At a cost of only $76, I was eager to compare it to other range bags I’ve tested in the past. My first impression was that of functionality. There are no bells and whistles on this bag, just robust construction, big YKK zippers and ample storage for 3-2 pistols. Plus all your additional kit.

Range Ready Bag

The large rectangular main compartment in accessed through a double YKK zippered top flap and measures 15″x9″x9.5″. Perfect for ammunition boxes, hearing protection, magazines, targets and more. Along the outside of the bag, you’ll find a pair of zippered pockets measuring 12″x8″x2″. Bright yellow padded weapon inserts fit perfectly inside. Allowing the shooter to safely transport weapons to and from the bag. The weapon inserts will fit a full sized 1911 or Glock 34. The third exterior pocket measures 7.5″x7″x2″ and features a small padded insert for a ultra compact pistol. I actually use it to protect my electronic shot timer.

Final Thoughts:

After several range sessions, I’ve come up with my final thoughts on the Range Ready Bag from PLSP. A single metal snap secures the carry handle. It’ll do the job done but could be more comfortable if hauling a lot of heavy ammunition. Although I really like the large one hanged opening double zippered top. Closing it is a different story. An additional handle or loop on the bag would help make it a one-handed closing as well. The arrangement of the pockets work fine but are missing some sort of dedicated magazine storage. As simple as elastic loops sewn into the side of the bag would help organize pistol mags. Inside the bottom of the bag is a removable rigid panel perfect for weapons disassembly and maintenance.

The quality of the materials are top notch, as is the construction. The Gear Bunker is an all veteran staff and when we see Made in the USA, our little hearts are warmed. And designed by first responders? Even better. With so many range bags on the market these days, only a few are still made in the USA. If you’re looking for an economical and well made bag for the range, I recommend the Range Ready Bag from Professional Life Support Products.
