5.11 Drops a Limited Run of the AMP12 and AMP24

May 5, 2026 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

If you slept on the AMP series the first time around, here’s your wake-up call. 5.11 is bringing back two of its most loved packs in a strictly limited release: just 511 units per size, per color. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

The lineup is simple. The AMP12 ($170) is your 25-liter daily driver — laptop, range trip, packed lunch with a pistol tucked alongside. The AMP24 ($190) bumps capacity to 32 liters and adds side pockets, a bottom stash, and a dedicated hydration/laptop sleeve for overnighters or long days in the field.

What sets the AMP line apart is the patented HEXGRID load-bearing platform — a hex-pattern hook-and-loop system that lets you angle pouches any way you want instead of being stuck with rigid MOLLE rows. Each pack ships with a removable 9×9 HEXGRID panel, so you can build it out for a range day and tear it down for the airport without breaking a sweat. There’s also a dedicated CCW pocket with loop lining and a webbing strap — separate from the main compartment, exactly where it should be.

Construction is classic 5.11: water-resistant 500D Dobby nylon up top, a beefier 1050D nylon base where it actually drags, TAC-LAM laminate for weather, and a thermoformed back panel that holds its shape loaded down. Quad-Zip clamshell access, internal loop panels, mesh organization, and a 15-inch laptop sleeve in both bags.

In a market flooded with tactical backpacks, the AMP series still manages to feel purpose-built instead of overbuilt.

Three colors: black, dark kangaroo, ranger green. Available now at 511tactical.com.

Don’t sit on this one.
