The New Argo Automatic from Vincero Collective

May 3, 2022 by Rick Dembroski Leave a Comment

The Vincero Argo Automatic is a classic robust watch for users searching for simple and functional. The team at Vincero managed to pull off a design blending fashion and function. Making this watch work at home, in the office or on the beach. In this day and age that’s not an easy feat. As many watch manufactures either make watches too complicated or end up making them too heavy and gaudy. When we look at the Vincero Argo Automatic, in order to fully appreciate it, we should peek under the hood at the movement. For the Argo, Vincero chose the Miyota Series 9015 automatic movement.

Miyota Series 9015 Movement

Since 2009, the Miyota Series 9015 has been featured by at least 10 other watch companies. This not only shows the longevity of the movement, but it’s standing in the eyes of other watch manufacturers. The Miyota Series 9015 is an automatic movement. So the natural movement of the wearers arm keeps the rotor wound. Rather than using batteries to power this watch. When fully wound the Vincero Argo Automatic has a battery reserve of 42 hours. The average accuracy is -10 seconds to +30 seconds per day which is on par with several more expensive Swiss movements.

Sapphire Exhibition Caseback shows off the heart of the Argo, the Miyota 9015 which will provide years of dependable battery free use.

Case, & Bracelet Materials

Careful consideration was used when for the materials used in the Vincero Argo Automatic. The case, bracelet, & glass are selected to walk the line between style and ruggedness. The choice to use 316L Surgical Stainless Steel on the case and bracelet leaves the user with a watch that can take years of use and abuse. And if needed, can be rebuffed to restore the original shine. A scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass covers the watch face nicely.

The face of our demo model features the superluminova markers laid over a royal blue face trimmed in silver. It’s a classic look that is subtle but still striking in its own way. The Argo Automatic is available in five color choices. Including a completely blacked out model that features a black stainless steel case, bracelet, and face. The full array of color choices can been seen on the company’s web site Vincerocollective.Com

The Vincero Argo Automatic pulls something off that is very difficult in 2022. It offers a watch that is stylish, functional and simple. With great materials, a very good warranty at a price most people can afford. It does this while also maintaining a climate neutral certified production process. Which means Vincero can operate while still caring about the environment. This is really is nice to see in today’s world.

Final Thoughts

I’ve had the Argo Automatic on my wrist for a few weeks now. Wearing it around the garage and to work to see how it feels on the wrist. And getting used to the feel of it. So far, I think it’s a very underrated watch overall. The weight, even with the stainless steel bracelet, is hardly noticeable to me. Although I do frequently wear other steel cased watches. Compared to similar timepieces in my collection, I feel the Argo is actually a bit lighter. The bracelet does not pull or snag my arm hair or my shirt. Which seems to be a fear of many people when they see bracelet style straps. During my evaluation period the bracelet stayed firmly fastened when I closed it and never felt like it was ever in any danger of coming loose.

There are two features on the Vincero Argo Automatic that some casual watch owners might consider minor. Or might have over looked entirely. I will admit that I am not a casual watch owner so i tend to notice little things that some others might not, which is why I wanted to specifically mention these two features that caught my attention so quickly.

Bracelet Quick Disconnect

The first is the quick disconnect feature on the bracelet. Allowing the user to swap the stainless steel bracelet to another 20mm strap. Like a cloth nato style strap or a two piece silicone strap. Historically changing bracelets on watches can be a pain for owners who are not familiar with the intricacies of spring bar tools. Well say goodbye to scratched watch cases with these quick disconnect tabs. Simply pull the tab back and give the bracelet a wiggle and the strap comes off in seconds. A nice small feature that I as well as many other watch enthusiasts will enjoy just because we can be a weird group at times and cringe when we scratch up our watches when changing straps.

Quick disconnect spring bars makes removing the bracelet much easier for owners. Also prevents scratches from spring bar tools

Sapphire Exhibition Case Back

The next feature I’d like to mention is just pure fun. And one I have never had with a watch previously owned. The sapphire exhibition case back. This allows the user to see the Miyota Series 9015 movement, rotor and other mechanisms as they operate. I know this may seem like a small detail but the curios engineer in me is always interested to see how things work. Observing the small gears and springs in the movement give me a profound respect for the craftspeople who still maintain and repair timepieces today.

I hope you enjoyed this look at the Vincero Argo Automatic, I want to thank Vincero for giving us the opportunity to review this watch, and thank you for stoping by The Gear Bunker.
