Tick Nipper | A safe and effective way to remove ticks.

May 23, 2023 by Art Dorst Leave a Comment

If you live or spend time in the woods, it’s once again tick season.

Here in New Jersey ticks are out in force and attaching themselves to people and pets. Unfortunately, ticks can cause serious illnesses, including; Lyme disease, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Anaplasmosis to name a few.

The consequences of these diseases can be serious to both people and pets. And the Tick Nipper can be any solution to tick removal.

My home in southern New Jersey backs up to the woods. So just going outside to mow the lawn, fill the bird feeders, or go for a hike result in a full body tick inspection. So far, I’ve already had a dozen or so of these nasty things attach themselves to me and our dogs.

I’ve tried a few different tools for removing ticks and the best so far has been the Tick Nipper. This simple plastic plier cleanly and efficiently removes ticks from people and pets. The process I use is once the tick is located on me, I use an alcohol wipe on the effected area. Then it’s time to employ the Tick Nipper to remove it. The jaws of the tool slip under the tick, squeeze gently, and with an upward motion, cleanly removes the tick. After the tick is removed I dispose of it. I wipe the spot with the alcohol wipe and do follow up treatment as necessary.

“Ticks pose a serious health risk to our families and pets. Anyone who spends time camping, hiking, gardening, or enjoying the outdoors can suddenly find a tick or tick nymph threatening their safety.” ~ticknipper.com

The Tick Nipper is a great affordable tool and could easily augment your current medical kit. MSRP is only $13.99.
