Streamlight Survivor Rechargeable Emergency Light

April 1, 2022 by Sarah Carlson Leave a Comment

Streamlight Survivor Light

Preparing your home is just as important as preparing yourself for a disaster. And when it comes to disaster preparedness, one of the most important things to plan for is a loss of electricity. Enter the Streamlight Survivor light.

Streamlight Survivor LightThis isn’t a flashlight I’d include as part of my everyday carry given its size and weight. But it is an excellent option for the home, vehicle, and any situation requiring work outside in adverse conditions. In my hand, it feels indestructible. It is hefty. Solid. And lights up the inside of my house like the sun.

I like the Streamlight Survivor because it comes with several standout features, such as multiple fuel options. It comes with a rechargeable battery, a wall mount charger, and a vehicle charger making it a great option for the home or vehicle. It also comes with a converter to use four AA batteries instead. As with some of Streamlight’s other flashlights, I like that it has the option to use AA batteries since they are so prevalent and relatively inexpensive.

It’s bright yellow color also makes it easier to identify and grab in dim light (although it also comes in black and orange). The directional beam lends itself well to completing tasks or projects in adverse conditions versus a multidirectional lantern. When it comes to home preparedness, I like both options. The lanterns are great for general lighting by which to play a game or put together a puzzle. The Streamlight Survivor is perfect for rooting around in the closet for your gear bin or running outside into the storm to clear an obstruction.

And when you’re running out into a storm, it’s important to have a water-resistant light, which the Survivor is. The heavy-duty clip and D-ring also make it easy to attach or hang from gear or jacket while completing a task.

Overall, this is an excellent addition to any home or vehicle disaster preparedness kit and as an emergency manager, it’s one I recommend.

Some select stats

  • LED technology with four lighting modes: High, Low, Flash, or Moonlight. Rechargeable or Alkaline.
  • Custom designed optic with optional, interchangeable Smoke Cutter® plugs for preferred beam pattern:
  • Black plug significantly reduces peripheral light for a tighter beam
  • Amber plug reduces peripheral light and eye fatigue caused by glare
  • Strong spring-loaded clip securely grabs onto belts and gear; D-ring features forward hanging orientation
  • Optimized electronics provide regulated intensity
  • The rechargeable battery can be recharged up to 1,000 times. Also accepts four “AA” alkaline non-rechargeable batteries for fast replacement with readily available batterie
  • The high-impact super-tough nylon construction offers exceptional durability.
