Stargaze Recliner Luxury Chair | From NEMO Equipment

November 3, 2022 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

The Stargaze Recliner is a chair I originally covered at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. It took a while to get a media sample but it finally happened. This past summer, our family packed up the trusty Tundra and explored our state of Michigan. When space isn’t a big issue, we like to pack a few comfort items. Like chairs that don’t suck. Often, after a full days adventure, we find ourselves sitting around a small campfire late into the night amazed by the vastness of our universe. With little to no light in the wilderness, it’s amazing what the night sky reveals. The Nemo Stargaze Recliner Luxury Chair was built with this very purpose in mind.

Video Demo:

Stargaze Frame

Nemo Equipment manufactures some of the finest tents, air mattresses and shelters I’ve ever used. Lightweight, small, well engineered and easy to set up. The Stargaze Recliner borrows from that same philosophy. Although I wouldn’t confuse this with what I consider a lightweight chair, it shares a similar set-up as a tent. A robust aircraft aluminum tube frame makes a sturdy foundation for this chair. And with a 300-pound capacity, it’s obvious why they used such large poles for the frame. With self-locating shock cords and burly plastic joints, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the simple frame assembly. So simple, even a caveman like me could do it.

Stargaze Chair

The non-absorbent monofilament mesh used to make up the swinging chair easily snaps into place with a simple click. Once suspended from the frame, the Stargaze Recliner Luxury is ready to go. As you sit back into the chair, the gentle curves support your body with no pressure points. And when you decide to lean back and take it all in, the auto-reclining feature adjusts to your new attitude. When it’s time for a meal or to re-engage in conversation, just sit back up and the chair back adjusts accordingly. Additionally, Nemo incorporated an accessory pouch big enough for a small tablet. As well as an integrated “no spill” cup holder (seen below).

So far, the Stargaze Luxury Recliner has been a nice addition to our variety of camp chairs. All four of us have different ideas of what is the perfect camp chair. And my wife has taken a liking to the Stargaze. At night, there is no better option for lounging, swinging and gazing at the endless night sky. The set-up is quick and easy, as is getting it back into the included case.
