Spiritus Systems Releases the New LV-120 Plate Carrier

December 18, 2025 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Spiritus Systems LV-120 Plate Carrier

Spiritus Systems has officially released the LV-120 Plate Carrier, a next-generation load-bearing system designed to meet the requirements of modern military and law enforcement. The LV-120 is now available directly through the company’s website and represents a ground-up evolution beyond the widely adopted LV-119 platform.

The LV-120 was developed in close collaboration with professional end users and reflects the realities of current and emerging operational environments. Rather than refining the LV-119, Spiritus Systems re-engineered the platform to address competing demands of weight reduction, durability, adaptability, cable management, and load carriage—without compromising structural rigidity or comfort.

At 2.03 pounds, the LV-120 balances strength and weight while accommodating a wide range of plate sizes and mission configurations. The carrier is constructed from X-Pac X50 nylon combined with nylon laminate, resulting in a highly abrasion- and tear-resistant, near-hydrophobic structure that resists water retention. Interior-facing 3D mesh lines both plate bags, promoting airflow and rapid drying to manage heat and perspiration across varied climates.

The base configuration is a rigid, mission-ready plate carrier intended to scale with operational needs. Removable, articulating shoulder straps allow the carrier to settle naturally on the body while providing ride-height adjustment. For users who require rapid donning and doffing, the shoulder straps can be replaced with the LV-120 Tubes Shoulder Strap system, sold separately.

The front plate bag features a loop MOLLE field designed to support placards, EUDs, and mission-specific accessories. Placards can be secured via G-hooks, one-inch side-release buckles, or Spiritus Systems’ Quick Attach Tab System. Laser-cut ports on either side of the MOLLE field support PTT mounting and serve as structured channels for communication cable routing. Additional ingress points allow cables to be routed internally, keeping excess wiring protected and out of the way.

On the rear, the LV-120 offers a full MOLLE field with an integrated 9-by-4-inch loop panel for identification. Rigid wings on either side of the rear plate bag provide mounting support for future accessories and allow the Reactive Cummerbund to articulate smoothly around the plate, maintaining consistent tension during movement.

The newly redesigned Reactive Cummerbund introduces a rigid CURV-based chassis that transfers load away from the shoulders and spine while keeping the plate bags compressed against the body. Unlike traditional elastic cummerbunds, this design supports heavier side-mounted equipment without sacrificing comfort or mobility. The system uses a one-size-fits-most structure with a rear shock-cord adjustment to accommodate natural body movement and simplify sizing and logistics.

To improve cross-platform compatibility, Spiritus Systems incorporated a #10 zipper standard into the LV-120. Developed in coordination with Ferro Concepts, this “Universal Carrier Attachment Standard” limits compatibility with some legacy Spiritus back panels but opens the door to broader future integration across brands.

The LV-120 Plate Carrier is available now in MULTICAM®, Ranger Green, Coyote, and Black through Spiritus Systems’ website.
