Upgrade with the SoftSeal Gel Ear Pads from Ready Up Gear

May 22, 2023 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

Hearing protection is a crucial piece of gear to have when working in any noisy environment. And a day at the shooting range can have a detrimental effect on your hearing if not properly protected. “Eye’s and ears” are the first protective items I grab from the range bag as I pull up to the shooting range. I typically use the Peltor Sport Tactical 500 headset for myself. And ever since I upgraded to the Gel Ear Pads, I knew I had to update the seals on the Howard Leight Impact Sport ear muffs that my wife uses. Fortunately, the folks at Ready Up Gear have an inexpensive solution. The SoftSeal Gel Ear Pads.

The SoftSeal Gel Ear Pads use premium acoustic memory foam along with a silicone gel. And are wrapped in a thin, easy to clean polyurethane material. This combination of material forms a highly malleable interface between the earmuff and your cranium. Creating a far better seal than the standard foam cups that come with most ear muffs. Installation is a snap…literally. The Howard Leight Impact Sport ear pads have 8 little plastic tabs that hold the ear pads in place. As you can see in the video, swapping them out for the SoftSeal Ear Pads is super easy.

Now I won’t have that guilty feeling as we’re banging steel or blasting clays out of the air. Since we both have the best hearing protection further upgraded with the plush SoftSeal Gel Ear Pads from Ready Up Gear. For under $30, the improvement in hearing protection, comfort and ease of cleaning make the SoftSeal Gel Ear a clear winner. And a worthwhile upgrade to any set of earmuffs.
