Scott’s Top 5 Men’s Lifestyle Gift Ideas for the Holidays

Scott's Top 5 Men's Lifestyle Gift Ideas for the Holidays

The holidays can be stressful as you try to complete Christmas shopping for friends and family in-between work hours.

That’s why we are putting together a few Men’s Lifestyle Gift Guides that should prove applicable for the man in your life, the veteran, the outdoorsman, or really anyone else who enjoys travel, adventure, and even a few more mundane hobbies from home.

Below are my top 5 Men’s Lifestyle gifts that I use daily. I’ve got some honorable mentions at the end, but these are my TOP 5 that any dude will appreciate.

Suunto Core Watch – $134.00

Suunto Core EDC Watch

With its discreet blacked-out design and low-profile screen the Suunto Core is a great choice for tactical EDC.

Its heavy-duty design can also keep up with the bumps and scrapes. Plus it does more than tell the time; a built-in barometer and altimeter help keep track of altitude and weather on extended treks in the wilderness, and the reliable internal compass helps you keep your way when you start getting lost.

Out of all the watches I own, this is the one I reach for most often. Mostly due to the fit and comfort. Battery life averages around 8 months for me, but battery replacement with this watch is extremely easy and the batteries are cheap. I bought a 6 pack of batteries on Amazon which will last me several years.

Magpul DAKA Bifold Wallet – $24.95

Magpul Daka Bifold Wallet

The Magpul DAKA Bifold Wallet was designed with the same slim styling of their everyday wallet, but with extra room added for those times when you need a little more insurance that you can buy what you want and go where you want to go.

It’ll easily hold your cash, two forms of ID, and two credit cards without adding significant bulk to your everyday carry and its slim profile eliminates printing.

Spyderco Delica 4 – $93.57

spyderco delica 4

The Spyderco Delica 4 might quite possibly be the perfect EDC folder in its class. Now that I’ve had a few years of use with it, I can confidently say that my statement holds true. The biggest advantage I see out of the gate is the price point. The MSRP direct from Spyderco is $135.95, but you can find them on Amazon for around $85. At that price point, you’re getting one hell of a folding knife made with quality materials.

Not only is this a great lightweight folder to carry on you everywhere you go on your urban adventures, but it really does a stand-up job as a wilderness EDC folder too. I’ve used the Delica 4 countless times in the woods for carving, prepping kindling for a fire, and striking my Ferro rod to produce sparks for the fire.

I also carried this knife clipped to the waistband of my board shorts, while at the beach for a week. The knife was submerged in saltwater for the better part of the week. After I returned home, I disassembled the knife, wiped it down, and gave it a light coating of oil. Absolutely no issues whatsoever.

The Spyderco Delica 4 is now a constant companion when running during the spring and summer. Like I did at the beach, I just clip it to the waistband of my running shorts and head out for a run. Through rain and sweat, the knife has never failed me. Take care of your gear and it will take care of you.

SOG Surrept/12 EDC Backpack – $74.95

Looking for the ULTIMATE urban EDC bag under $100? The SOG Surrept/12 fits that bill perfectly.

Darn Tough Socks – $25.95

darn tough socks

I’ve been through several brands of smart wool socks over the past few years. Since getting my hands on my first pair of Darn Tough socks, my collection has grown to several. So much so that they are the only brand sock I wear, whether that is to the office or outdoors.

I have been wearing the Hike/Trek Micro Crew socks for most activities and have to say they are pretty damn comfortable. Another cool thing I like about these socks is that they don’t make your feet feel too tight inside a pair of shoes or boots.

If you’re in the market for some new wool socks for the fall hiking season and into the winter, then head on over to the Darn Tough website and pick up a few pairs. You won’t be disappointed!

Honorable Mentions:

  • Powerbeats Pro Wireless Earbuds
