Ridgemont Outback II: Everyday hiking boots

Ridgemont hasn’t been around for long. In fact, most of you probably haven’t heard of Ridgemont or have seen a pair walking around town. Because Ridgemont is a very new brand on the scene. So new, that their webpage is offering some lucrative investment options to help them raise capital. I was lucky enough to grab a pair of the Outback II boots in black and gray. Right off the bat, I noticed how easy these boots wore. Like they had already been broken-in. The 2mm waxed full grain leather upper has a nice look and feel to it. And with a DWR finish, these boots will shed the water while kicking around town.

Not built for a summit attempt, the Ridgemont Outback II is built for everything else. Details like the metal eyelets, overlock stitched foxing and 100% rubber sole, all exude quality. This synergy allows the user to crush the urban jungle as well as a quick escape to hike their favorite trail. Although not meant to ford a river, the Outback II will withstand the dreaded rain and puddles. The lightly lugged sole affords adequate traction without looking like you’re heading out on the Pacific Coast Trail. These stylish hiking boots are the master of compromise.

With fall rapidly approaching, these Outback II’s will be my go-to footwear. Living in Northern Michigan, we see a lot of damp colder temperatures as the year fades away. Occasional sleet and snow will catch people unprepared and slogging through the slush. The Outback II, with it’s mid top hight and waterproof properties will keep my feet high and dry. All the while earning style points. Outside Magazine even said, “This boot can do anything!”

Take a few minutes and look at the Ridgemont website. I think you’ll be intrigued by the products and potential of this company. Good things are coming from Ridgemont Outfitters.
