Real Avid Smart-Torq Fixed Limiters: Precision Torque Made Simple

March 20, 2025 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Real Avid Smart-Torq Fixed Limiter Torque System

When it comes to mounting scopes, tightening action screws, or securing key components on your firearm, getting the torque just right is critical.

Too little, and things start to loosen up. Too much, and you risk damaging your optics or even your gun.

That’s where Real Avid’s new Smart-Torq® Fixed Limiters come in—making precision torque simple, reliable, and affordable for gun owners, builders, and gunsmiths.

What Are Smart-Torq Fixed Limiters?

These compact torque limiters are designed for 1/4-inch drivers and come pre-set to the most common torque values used in firearm assembly and maintenance. No need for guesswork—just attach the limiter to your driver, add the right bit, and tighten. When you hit the correct torque, the limiter clicks, letting you know it’s time to stop. It’s that easy.

Why Do You Need One?

If you’ve ever had a scope shift or an action screw back out, you know the importance of proper torque. Using a preset torque limiter means you’ll get it right every time—without over-tightening and ruining expensive components.

Available Torque Ratings & Pricing

Real Avid’s Smart-Torq Fixed Limiters are available in 14 different torque settings, ranging from 7 in-lb to 100 in-lb, so you can build your kit based on your needs. They’re sold individually at $24.99 each, making it easy to expand your toolset without spending a fortune.

The Perfect Starter Kit

Not sure where to start? The Smart-Torq Fixed Limiter and X3 Driver™ Kit is a great option. It includes:

  • The Real Avid X3 Driver™ system
  • Six of the most common Fixed Limiters
  • 12 driver bits
  • A 1/4-inch hex-to-square adapter
  • A 1/2-inch socket
  • A durable hard case for storage

Upgrade Your Gun Bench
