Preparing for a pandemic with the ReadyWise Emergency Food Supply

April 2020, COVID-19 pandemic kicks off. We all saw it, empty shelves at the grocery stores. People were panicking and stocking up on essentials. Food staples like water, milk, eggs, meat, flour etc. And apparently toilet paper? The toilet paper shortage was a whole different story but you know what I’m talking about. The time to plan for a pandemic isn’t during a pandemic. My family and I were skiing in Utah when the shit hit the fan. We typically don’t buy any groceries prior to a trip and eat what’s on hand the week leading up to departure. So we returned home to an empty pantry and refrigerator. Plus, the local population had a 3-4 day head start on us gathering food and essentials. This scenario would have been a non-issue if we had ReadyWise Emergency Food Supplies.

Pandemic ready Emergency Food Supplies

Fortunately, living in a rural area of Northern Michigan, the locals didn’t go hog wild in the grocery stores and we were able to resupply most of what we needed once back from Utah. However, other parts of the state and across the country, unprepared citizens found themselves in a pinch. Local grocery stores completely void of meat. No milk, eggs and a dwindling produce section. Bakeries shut down. Not a good place to be. ReadyWise is a company that specializes in emergency food preparedness. Providing ready made kits for families and businesses. Just-add-water kits ranging from 32 meals to 4320 meals. All with a robust 25 year shelf life.

These meals are delicious, easy to cook, extremely packable and offer a little bit of humor on the packaging. You can also find water filtration and storage, solar electric generators and a variety of survival backpacks on the ReadyWise website.

Final Thoughts:

Now that we’ve been through a pandemic and know what to expect, we should reassess our preparedness. Relying on others and government to take care of every citizen isn’t a plan. You are your own first responder in these situations. Having the means to feed your family, filter water, provide security and medical care are the priorities. Having a ReadyWise Emergency Food Supply Kit on hand will at least provide some peace of mind the next time we find ourselves amid a global crisis.
