P20i Tactical Flashlight from Nitecore | With i-Generation Technology

March 8, 2022 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

Nitecore’s new P20i is a heavy hitting 1800 lumen LED for only $89.99

Nitecore just introduced a competitively priced, feature packed Tactical LED Flashlight. At only $89.95, the P20i scorches the competition with a brightness of 1800 lumen that’s thrown 343 meters down range. Well suited for both law enforcement or military, the P20i has a few tricks up its sleeve.

The intuitive tail cap buttons separate the strobe feature from the flashlight operation. Allowing the user to employ the proper form of light for the task at hand. A raised button that’s easily felt by a thumb and can be fully pressed to click the light on constantly. Or partially press the button for a momentary on function. A recessed flat button along side the raised button acts as the function button. Used for toggling between low, mid and high settings while the light is on. Or pressed while the light is off to activate the strobe feature. A strobe that changes frequency during extended use to better disorient its target.

Nitecore P20i Overview:

Utilizing the latest LED and battery technology, the P20i comes with the revolutionary and powerfully upgraded 21700i battery. This 4000 mAh cell has both positive and negative poles located on either end. Enabling high efficient output by minimizing power loss due to internal resistance. What makes this cool in my opinion is the batteries flexibility for adding rear mounted powered attachments. Like the TSL10i Signal Light pictured below.

Recharging the powerful battery doesn’t mean you have to remove the cell from the P20i. In fact, Nitecore has integrated a USB-c port with dust cover near the head of the light. Additionally, the strike bezel of the P20i features a trio of embedded high hardness silicone nitride ceramics. Designed to break glass, these rounded inserts are not like the sharp carbide tips found on the competitors lights. These won’t shred your pocket, pack or whatever you store the light in.

Nitecore has really pushed the boundaries with their new tactical lights. The new 27100i battery has greatly expanded how a light and powered accessories can work in unison from either end of the device. Several flexible mounting accessories are both included in the packaging and available separately. Making the P20i one of the most versatile lights available.

Final Thoughts:

The P20i is a well built, reasonably priced, extremely powerful Tactical LED light. Then rock solid construction and innovative battery technology make it a winner for under $90. The P20i has many features found in lights twice the price. Although the P20i was designed for Law Enforcement and Military, I feel like it would be well suited for camping, hiking, search and rescue or anything else where a compact light is needed.
