Nitecore HM01 360° Pivoting ARC Rail Helmet Light

June 10, 2021 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

HM01

Designed for Law Enforcement and Search & Rescue Operations

Whether you’re a Law Enforcement Officer, Search & Rescue or just a prepared citizen, the new HM01 Tactical Helmet Light from NITECORE can prove to be an asset in low light conditions. NITECORE is known for their high quality LED lighting products and the recently released HM01 is no exception. Designed to mount to the ARC rail of a ballistic or bump helmet the HM01 provides 320 lumens of hands-free “fill” lighting. Allowing ample room illumination for indoor LEO operations. As well as providing oriented illumination while working on a patient outdoors.

NITECORE HM01 Helmet Light Video:

Built from aero aluminum and IP68 rated, this 1.43 ounce ARC rail light is designed to operate in the most demanding conditions. Featuring a TIR (Total Internal Reflection) lens, the HM01 provides a soft even light pattern. The included CR123A battery provides a 3 hour runtime on the high setting (320 Lm) and 15 hours on the low setting (35 Lm). The HM01 also accepts the rechargeable RCR123A battery available from NITECORE. The 3D Pivot System provides unlimited orientation of the HM01. And the resistance can be fine tuned by tightening or loosening the 4 allen bolts around the pivot ball. NITECORE includes allen wrenches for both pivot adjustment and ARC rail mounting.

Final Thoughts:

Although not a spot-light, the HM01 fills a need to illuminate the immediate area around the user. Providing well diffused light without hot-spots allow the SAR or LEO to work hands-free on a patient or cuff a bad-guy at night. Adding a red LED option would make this the perfect helmet light in my opinion but the HM01 is purely a white light for now. When I was tasked with platoon radio duties in the Ranger Regiment, I would have loved this light. The solid mounting system, light weight and low profile doesn’t weigh your helmet down. Ease of function, high-low illumination modes and the ability to articulate the light in all directions make the HM01 from NITECORE a winner in my book.
