Mosko Moto Introduces The Strata Merino Base Layers Utilizing Nuyarn Technology

September 17, 2021 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Moskp Moto Strata Merino Base Layers

Mosko Moto, a leader in adventure motorcycling apparel and bags, today announces the debut of the Strata Merino Base Layers. Meticulously designed from the ground up, the Strata Merino Base Layer collection is lightweight, incredibly comfortable, and naturally anti-microbial. The top and bottom base layers are built with Nuyarn®, a merino fabric derived from a revolutionary spinning technology that amplifies the natural performance properties of merino.

Mosko Moto brings a new era of innovation to ADV apparel layering with the Strata Merino Zip-off Thermal bottoms. The full-length leg zippers, over armor fit, and above the boot cut offer quick and easy removal or the option to add layers without removing your boots and/or outer pants. Simply drop your trousers and then unzip the base layer to remove them trailside and continue on the ride.

“Temperatures can swing wildly on any adventure. Cold mornings turn into hot days, then possibly back into cold nights when the sun ducks out of sight, and all too often we sacrifice comfort to avoid these tedious moments, “said Scott Bryan, Apparel Director. “That is why we built the Strata Merino base layer, it’s easy on and off solution using the best in class Nuyarn merino to ensure all-day comfort and performance.”

For the top, the Strata Merino Quarter Zip Thermal features a casually styled hoodie pocket, quarter-zip stand collar, and removable hood. Reinforced thumb loops help to keep the sleeves in place when layering over or under armor. And with the combination of technical features and casual styling, this versatile piece is sure to become an essential travel companion.

The Strata Merino Thermals are constructed using Nuyarn technology, a lightweight, incredibly comfortable, and durable blend of Merino wool and nylon. By drafting merino fibers around a performance filament vs. twisting them, Nuyarn offers significantly higher stretch and recovery, better moisture management, greater warmth, and increased breathability compared with traditional merino garments.

“We are really excited to work with Mosko Moto and bring our Nuyarn technology to the ADV market. They are an extremely innovative team,” said Andy Wynne, CEO of TMC Ltd, which owns and manufactures Nuyarn. “Riders will definitely feel the difference with Nuyarn merino in terms of comfort, durability, and performance as well as the ability to easily transition between climates.”

About Mosko Moto:

Mosko was founded in 2013 when the founders left their corporate jobs to make moto gear. Their partnership combines decades of design and manufacturing experience for some of the world’s leading outdoor brands, with first-hand experience riding dual sport bikes through some of the remotest corners of the globe.

About Nuyarn:

Owned by TMC Ltd., Nuyarn technology produces yarn for ultra-light, high-performance stretch fabrics. The environmentally friendly Nuyarn spinning process allows weavers and knitters to create unparalleled fabric weights with incredible natural elasticity, to provide performance benefits that other yarns cannot deliver. Unlike traditional core-spun or ring-spun methods that twist the life out of fibre, Nuyarn technology drafts wool fibres along a high-performance filament, creating a structure that amplifies the fibre’s natural properties.

The incredibly fine, 2 ply twist-free yarn performs better across the board – in stretch, loft, strength, comfort, volume, dry time, next-to-skin feel, spirality, elasticity, warmth, and UV protection, which last for the lifetime of the garment. Nuyarn technology uses 30% fewer raw materials, and its top-of-the-line machinery consumes less space and uses less energy. Learn more at https://nuyarn.com.
