Kifaru Launches the QRF Pack: A Low-Profile, Quick-Access Fanny Pack for Everyday Carry

November 13, 2025 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Kifaru QRF Pack showing low-profile design and CCW compartment

Kifaru—well-known for their backcountry-grade packs and mission-driven design philosophy—just expanded their Everyday Carry lineup with the launch of the QRF Pack (Quick-React Fanny). Built for discreet carry and rapid firearm deployment, the new QRF bridges the gap between urban EDC and field-ready capability.

Designed around real-world feedback from concealed carriers, military veterans, and outdoorsmen, the QRF Pack provides users with fast and confident access to their firearm and critical gear, without the bulk or tactical signature of a traditional chest rig or waist pack.

“We wanted to create a pack that transitions seamlessly between daily life and demanding environments,” said Mackenzie Gates, Community Marketing Manager at Kifaru. “The QRF offers a purpose-built design that gives users the ability to stay prepared and organized without sacrificing comfort or discretion.”

A full hands-on review is coming soon to The Gear Bunker. For now, here’s a closer look at what Kifaru just brought to the table.

A Discreet Fanny Pack Built for Rapid Deployment

At its core, the QRF Pack is engineered for speed, offering fast access, organization, and response. Its dedicated concealed-carry compartment features dual YKK® zippers and an internal Rapid Deployment Panel designed to get a pistol into play in under two seconds with practice.

The CCW compartment provides 100 cubic inches of space—sized for compact and subcompact pistols such as the Glock 19, P365, Hellcat, and similar platforms. A Velcro-compatible interior allows users to mount their preferred holster securely, including setups for optic-equipped or light-bearing pistols (with compatibility depending on configuration).

Kifaru also included elasticized internal pockets for organizing magazines, a tourniquet, or trauma gear—critical items that remain cleanly staged and immediately accessible after the draw.

Purpose-Built Everyday Storage

While the CCW features take center stage, the QRF Pack still functions as a clean, unobtrusive daily fanny pack. The front compartment features 55 cubic inches of storage—ideal for keys, wallet, phone, or earbuds—with a secondary internal zippered pocket for items such as cash, cards, or passports.

Quick-access external tabs and an included ITW Grimloc allow users to clip keys, gloves, ID cards, or other frequently handled items on the fly.

Kifaru intentionally kept the exterior low-profile to blend into urban settings without the tactical “tell” that many concealed-carry waist packs tend to have.

SecureFit Belt and Mobility-Focused Design

A fanny pack is only as good as its stability during movement, and Kifaru built the QRF with that in mind. The 1.5-inch SecureStretch webbing belt accommodates waist sizes ranging from 26 to 46 inches and features angled belt anchors and dual-adjust buckles for a secure, bounce-free fit.

Walking, running, or climbing shouldn’t compromise access or comfort—and the QRF’s design reflects that.

Built with Kifaru’s Signature Durability

As expected from Kifaru, the construction is overbuilt in all the right ways:

  • 500D Cordura® for abrasion resistance and longevity
  • Heavy-duty YKK® zippers
  • Reinforced stitching and low-profile geometry
  • Velcro-compatible interior for modular customization

Although designed for EDC, the QRF is tough enough for backcountry travel, training courses, or vehicle-based roles.

More Than Just a CCW Pack

Even for users not carrying a firearm, the QRF’s versatility gives it broad appeal. Kifaru highlights several alternate uses:

  • Fly fishing essentials
  • Compact med kit
  • Bike repair pouch
  • Vehicle emergency kit
  • Short hike essentials

Its low-visibility form factor makes it adaptable far beyond concealed carry.

Final Thoughts

Kifaru’s new QRF Pack appears to deliver something many concealed carriers have been asking for: a low-profile, non-tactical-looking fanny pack that still allows a fast, clean pistol draw. The durability and thoughtful organization add to its appeal for both daily carry and outdoor use.

We’ll be testing the QRF Pack in-depth soon—stay tuned for a full review here on The Gear Bunker.
