Joolca HOTTAP Bag | Organize and Protect your essential gear

March 5, 2022 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

HOTTAP Bag

The heavy-duty HOTTAP Bag is custom-made to fit all components of HOTTAP as well as the off-grid plumbing kit.

After using the Joolca HOTTAP V2 for over two years now, I finally have the perfect storage solution for the unit. I originally purchased the Nomad Kit which includes the kitchen sink…literally. All the components of the HOTTAP Nomad kit fit into a large blue plastic sink basin. Which is great when I’m traveling in our Toyota Tundra and have room to spare. But what about the limited space of the FJ Cruiser? Here I had to get creative and pair down to just the essentials. And carrying those items just got easier with the HOTTAP Bag from Joolca.

With three separate compartments within the padded bag, I’m able to organize just the gear I want to bring for a trip in the FJ. A large compartment for the HOTTAP V2 unit. A medium sized compartment for the hoses. And a smaller compartment for the pump, shower head and faucet. A zippered mesh pocket sewn into the lid is a perfect place for the 12 volt power cord and any documentation you may want to bring along. The HOTTAP Bag is lightly padded so it should protect your investment while in the back of a truck.

The description of the bag on the website was a bit misleading at the time of this writing as it stated the bag has waterproof zippers. After speaking with Joolca, they advised me of an error in the listing and that the zippers are not waterproof. I plan to pack the HOTTAP Bag inside the FJ anyhow so no big deal. The nylon web handles and shoulder strap are permanently sewn onto the bag. I kinda wish the shoulder strap was removable as I don’t see ever using it. But all-in-all, for less than $50, the HOTTAP Bag is worth it in my opinion.

HOTTAP Bag Features:

  • Hard-wearing canvas – 1680D Oxford-weave polyester canvas
  • Water resistant shell – PVC-coated exterior

  • Durable carry options – Cross-stitched carry handles and shoulder strap
