iKamper Skycamp Mini: A Game Changing Rooftop Tent

They are going to be displaying their brand new Skycamp Mini rooftop tent at the SHOT Show Pop-Up Preview on Wednesday, Jan 22. Head up to the 5th floor of the Palazzo Ballroom and you won’t be able to miss this amazing new rooftop tent, right in the center of the room (check out the attachments for the details). Nathan Hendrix, the Managing Director of iKamper USA will be on-hand and would love to personally show you the ins and outs of this game-changing new tent.

Skycamp Mini

The new Skycamp Mini is the two-person version of the best-selling Skycamp tent, taking all of the innovative features from the game-changing Skycamp and shrinking the package down to a smaller footprint that can be mounted on any vehicle. Sleeping 2 people, instead of 4, this smaller footprint clears more room on roof racks or on short-bed pickup trucks while also providing the quick and easy setup that iKamper has become known for.

The Skycamp Mini offers the same quick setup (1 minute!) as the Skycamp, but in a shorter expandable hard shell: perfect for the bed or cab of your truck, for a smaller vehicle, or for saving space on your roof. Weighing in at only 125lbs (57kg), utilizing a hard shell of fiber-reinforced plastic and has a double layer with built-in air insulation, the Skycamp Mini is almost soundproof and condensation resistant (Most rooftop tents have a single-layer shell)

The Skycamp Mini’s floor is made of high-performance honeycomb aluminum panels that are lightweight and strong enough to hold a 1.8-ton Jeep Wrangler! The flat, insulated aluminum panels will give you a much more comfortable night’s rest than the rocky, cold ground. The Skycamp Mini tent is made of breathable, water-resistant 300gsm poly-cotton canvas. To really keep you dry, it also comes with waterproof zippers and a waterproof polyester 150D (PU 3000mm) rainfly for extra protection. The Skycamp’s thicker, the heavier canvas will keep you dry, and it’s also quieter in the wind.

The small details have not been overlooked. This tent integrates features like lockable stainless steel closure straps and a redesigned ladder that has orients each rung/step to be horizontal to the ground for added safety and comfort. And unlike other hardshell tents, the windows can be propped open so the fabric becomes a canopy and shields the window from rain.

This tent is an absolute game-changer for the outdoor and overland markets. Now, just about any pickup, small car or SUV can be equipped with a rooftop tent that you’d actually want to sleep in AND is simple to operate.

Features:

  • Sleeps 2 adults
  • Sets up in 1 minute
  • Weighs 125lb
  • Aerodynamic hardshell that can fit on just about any vehicle
  • Detachable rain fly for better visibility and air flow.
