Beyond Clothing’s technical short sleeve shirt | Todra K1

November 30, 2021 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

Todra

Beyond Clothing out of Seattle, Washington, has been busy perfecting their technical layering system. A system of clothing designed to work in harmony with the sole purpose of enabling you to beat the environmental challenges standing between you and your outdoor adventure. “Kryos” is the name given to their current layering system. And with 8 layers to choose from, it all starts with the base layer or K1. Within the K1 lineup is a new technical short sleeve t-shirt that I’ve really come to like over the summer. The Todra K1.

I basically wear jeans and a t-shirt daily so I was happy to see what all the hype was about. I mean, it’s just a t-shirt, right? At first glance, I could tell it was something different. The shoulder area was shaped differently than the typical t-shirt. Making for a more comfortable fit. By eliminating the seam that runs along the top of the shoulder, Beyond’s design reduces chaffing that would occur from carrying a heavy pack. Featuring a face-sanded tencel-blend fabric that provides exceptional softness. The Todra K1 not only looks better, it fits better than the typical 2 dimensional t-shirt.

PURPOSE-BUILT FABRIC

The Todra K1 utilizes a breathable knit jersey called drirelease® technology. This blend of fabrics lift moisture off your body further preventing odor. As a base layer, staying dry is essential to remaining warm during active use. Yet the Todra also works great as a stand alone t-shirt in warm climates. This lightweight shirt packs well for travel and a recent trip to Grenada revealed that it’s highly resistant to wrinkles as well.

Offered in 4 colors and available in mens size S to 2XL, this $35 technical t-shirt is a winner in my book. I use these shirts by themselves in hot climates as well as layering pieces for hunting and skiing in the winter. And I don’t end up with the sweaty pits and stink that cotton shirts have perfected. Just wish there were a few more non-tactical colors to choose from. However, if you are in the military, these would be a major upgrade to what you’ve been issued by Uncle Sam.
