Alturas Hooded Jacket: Technical Insulation For High Performers

January 8, 2026 by Timothy Gauthier Leave a Comment

Boise, Idaho — Eberlestock, a leader in high-performance gear for hunters, duty-driven professionals, and serious outdoor adventurers, is proud to announce the launch of the Alturas Hooded Jacket, a versatile cold-weather layer, crafted to perform in the field and transition seamlessly into everyday life.

The Alturas Jacket delivers reliable warmth and durability for high-country hunts, range days, and extended operations. It works equally well as a standalone outer layer or as a low-profile insulating layer under a rain shell. Customer reviews have described the Alturas as “super lightweight” and feeling like a “tactical woobie jacket”. From glassing ridgelines in the mountains to holding a cold overwatch position, the Alturas adapts seamlessly to changing conditions.

At the core of the Alturas Jacket is a proprietary synthetic insulation that traps heat without bulk, keeping you warm while maintaining freedom of movement. PFAS-free DWR protection keeps you shielded from wet weather and quickly dries to enhance your comfort. The jacket can neatly stow into its own hood, making it compact and portable. Stretch nylon elbows and lightweight nylon ripstop on the body make the jacket functional while maintaining durability for times when you are lying in the prone.

Two zippered hand pockets and a zippered chest pocket provide secure storage for your essentials. A soft fleece lining inside the hand pockets adds subtle comfort to re-warm exposed hands and fingers, while stretch fleece gussets along the sides of the Alturas enhance mobility, allowing you to move freely. An adjustable hood and hem provide a customized fit, helping to seal out wind and unwanted drafts.

Built with Eberlestock’s mindset of providing the highest level of gear that you can trust, the Alturas Jacket is tough enough for demanding conditions yet refined for everyday wear. Reinforced materials and quality craftsmanship stand up to repeated use, while the clean, streamlined silhouette avoids the overly technical look of traditional outerwear.

With the launch of the Alturas Jacket, Eberlestock continues its commitment to building gear that performs when it matters most, without compromising on quality and authenticity.

The Alturas Hooded Jacket is available now through Eberlestock.com.
