5.11 Women’s Defender Flex Slim Jean | For the Active Woman

June 20, 2020 by Erik Meisner 1 Comment

5.11 Tactical continues to expand it’s fashionable, and functional, options for women’s clothing. The Defender Flex Slim Jean is a great next step.

“Sleek, tapered lines and unbeatable comfort make the Women’s Defender-Flex slim-fit jean a great choice. Pair any wash with a blouse, jacket and boots for a smart business casual or weekend look.” -511tactical.com

But here’s the deal: I wear boot-cut pants and jeans. I’m not exactly sure why. Perhaps it’s my body type, or my age, or the region I live. While I don’t have a horse nor consider myself cool enough to be a cowgirl (I know some cowgirls & they are truly badass), I’ve just always worn boot-cut pants. That is until now…

Slim fit pants are all the rage. They define great legs. They look fantastic with blouses with pretty details, like bell sleeves or cold shoulders. And they are cozy with an over-sized sweater or your man’s fleece sweatshirt. Plus they pair well with my favorite Chelsea boots.

Yet, knowing all of this still didn’t convince me. It wasn’t until I slipped them on and lived in them for a day, then another, and another… and I kept reaching for them in my closet.

5.11’s Defender Flex Slim Jeans, like their male counterpart, provide a comfortable classy fit: all day. That’s it. That’s the key. They fit when I put them on out of the dryer or off of the hanger & the still fit at the end of the day. So many “flex pants” just over-flex. And by the end of the day, you don’t have droopy drawers (not flattering!).

These pants fit, true-to-size. They don’t pinch at the waistband giving me an ugly muffin top. They don’t gap either, causing the, even more, dreaded peek at my panties when I bend over. These pants live and move with me all day. And they still look sharp and put together at the end of the day. Hallelujah, 5.11! You’ve outdone the likes of American Eagle, Levis, and Lucky Brand.

As expected from 5.11, these Defender Flex Slim Jeans have all of the practical bells & whistles for a girl at the range or on the town: ample pockets for extra magazines, a pocket knife, a cell phone, credit cards, or whatever you need to carry or conceal.

And so… I can’t say I’m only boot-cut girl any longer.
