Ultimate Camp Comfort | Yeti Trailhead Camp Chair

July 29, 2023 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

trailhead chair

Yeti is continuing its mission to over-engineer products and charge a fair amount of coin for it. The new Trailhead Camp Chair is no exception. Built to the same bombproof standards as their Hondo Basecamp Chair which I previously reviewed. The Trailhead Camp Chair borrows some of the same tech but re-engineers how it folds. Making this chair portable…somewhat.

Although the Trailhead Camp Chair folds up like one of those $12 cheap-ass chairs you probably have sitting in the shed, the sitting experience is at a whole new level. The breathable FlexGrid Fabric is pulled taught with the locking steel frame and can support a whopping 500 pounds. This amazing fabric also provides a little stretch to conform to your backside. A nice inclusion is the nylon carry bag sporting a pair of legit shoulder straps to make hauling it easier. And it’s a good thing because the Trailhead isn’t exactly lightweight, weighing in at 13.3 pounds.

Also of note are the solid armrests. A nice departure from the the saggy folding chair types. This rigid armrests provide a stable platform to push yourself back to vertical. Additionally, an ambidextrous cup holder can accommodate most of the Yeti drink ware fleet. And the GroundGrip feet are wide enough to float on quicksand. Well, that may be a stretch. But they will stay afloat on regular sand. Ultimately providing a stable platform for all your hardcore relaxing and sitting activities.

Trailhead Camp Chair Video Demo:

  • UNFOLDED 29 7/8” × 36 1/4” × 25 1/8”
  • FOLDED 11 3/4” × 43” × 9”
  • WEIGHT 13.3 lbs

Final Thoughts:

I already know what you’re thinking. $300 for a freakin chair? Yep, both the Trailhead and Hondo Chairs are three bills each. Love it or hate it, these are premium products with a premium price tag. And haters are gonna hate. But I really like their products and can’t imagine it failing. My only complaint is that the chair when folded kinda digs into your back when carrying in the backpack. Fortunately, I’ve reached my destination for now and will be enjoying this well designed camp chair for the foreseeable future.
