Kobalt Dual Power Inflator REVIEW

July 19, 2023 by Scott Witner 1 Comment

The Kobalt 12-Volt/120-Volt Portable Air Compressor

Traveling across the United States from Ohio to Arizona and back as a younger kid, I experienced a memorable trip.

One year, on our return trip while pulling a trailer full of household items from my grandmother’s house, we encountered nasty snow and ice in Flagstaff, AZ. The icy conditions led to a puncture in one of the trailer tires, causing it to blow out. My dad, who was driving, quickly maneuvered to the road’s shoulder to check the damage. Fortunately, the tire had only suffered a puncture to the tread, not a complete loss.

Without hesitation, my dad retrieved a box of emergency supplies from the back of the van—this was before carrying a vehicle emergency kit became popular. He pulled out a road flare, a tire repair kit, and a portable air compressor. After lighting the flare to alert other drivers of our situation, he skillfully patched the tire’s hole and re-inflated it with the portable air compressor. In less than 30 minutes, we were back on the road, a situation hard to imagine without the emergency kit in the van.

This true story highlights the invaluable role a portable air compressor plays in a vehicle emergency kit. For some time, I relied on the Slime Portable Air Compressor, which served its purpose well. However, after discovering the versatility of the Kobalt, I decided it was time for an upgrade. In the video that follows, I explain the reasons for my switch to the Kobalt and why I consider it among the best portable air compressors available.

Kobalt Dual Power Inflator Features

  • KOBALT dual power Inflator provides up to 120-PSI and is the perfect size to keep in your car, and quickly inflates items like car, bike, and ATV tires, air mattresses, and beach toys
  • DC power cord plugs into vehicle 12V power outlet or AC power cord plugs into standard 120 V household outlet
  • Digital gauge displays the current pressure of the item being inflated and allows you to preset your desired PSI from 1 to 120
  • The automatic shut-off feature turns the Inflator off once your preset pressure level has been reached, preventing over-inflation
  • 26-in rubber air hose supplies ample reach to accommodate your needs and can be conveniently stored inboard
  • Built-in LED lights allow for use at night or in low-light conditions
  • Contains a Presta valve adapter, 2 sports needles, and a raft nozzle included, so you can inflate sports equipment and pool floats with ease
  • All accessories are stored conveniently in a storage compartment, which means you can keep everything together and easy to find

The Kobalt Dual Power Inflator distinguishes itself with a suite of features designed for optimal convenience and efficiency, making it a standout choice for anyone looking to maintain their vehicle’s tires or recreational gear.

Offering up to 120-PSI, it’s compact enough to be stored in your car, ensuring you’re always prepared to quickly inflate car, bike, and ATV tires, as well as air mattresses and beach toys. Its versatility is further enhanced by drawing power from either a vehicle’s 12V outlet or a standard 120V household outlet.

The digital gauge not only displays the current pressure but also allows you to preset your desired PSI, ensuring precise inflation. With the automatic shut-off feature, the risk of over-inflation is eliminated, as the inflator stops once the preset pressure is reached.

The 26-inch rubber air hose provides ample reach, and together with built-in LED lights, makes nighttime or low-light conditions inflations a breeze. The inclusion of a Presta valve adapter, two sports needles, and a raft nozzle, all stored in a convenient onboard compartment, ensures you have all the necessary tools at hand for a wide range of inflation needs.

Don’t wait until you’re in a pinch to realize the importance of a reliable portable air compressor. For less than $100, the Kobalt Dual Power Inflator not only offers convenience and efficiency but also peace of mind, ensuring you’re well-prepared for any situation. Invest in one today and enjoy the assurance of being ready whenever you need it.
