Shopping Local: NeoMag

At The Gear Bunker, we always prefer Made in the USA products when available even if it costs a little more. It’s even more fulfilling when you can shop Made in the USA products local to you. I’m not talking about big box stores local to you, I’m talking about the small business, who took a chance on the American dream, put the work in to develop a product/brand and is now contributing to society and their family. For me that local business is NeoMag.

NeoMag started out as a one-man shop out of his house making a minimalist back-up magazine holder that inconspicuously clips inside your pocket and secures your pistol magazine utilizing a rare earth magnet. Combine that with using the toughest materials available and you have, in my opinion, the best spare magazine carry system available. Since the inception of their flagship product, they have introduced several other products to serve those that carry revolvers (RASC) and those that own and use AR-15 style rifles (Sentry Strap).

Let me say that NeoMag isn’t just developing products to sell and make a profit with, they are truly living the lifestyle that their products serve. These guys are regularly seeking out training with other firearms trainers to not only hone their own shooting skills but to evolve their product design as the industry evolves. One of those trainers is Pat McNamara, a former Army Delta guy now a firearms and tactics instructor training civilians, law enforcement and military.

I’ve witnessed this small business go from his house to a larger garage and now they have secured a new production facility to run daily operations out of. The growth of NeoMag has been amazing to witness and I’m proud to be able to support them. If you’re a concealed carry permit holder, law enforcement and reside in the state of Ohio, I highly encourage you to visit their website and support them, even if it’s only purchasing a t-shirt.

They are even running a Black Friday sale happening now with some killer deals.

When doing your holiday shopping this year, remember the local small businesses and show them some support even if it means spending a little more.
