NITECORE SLB03 Shadow Sling Bag

SLB03

NITECORE “Shadow” Sling Bag (SLB03)

The NITECORE SLB03 Shadow Sling Bag is a well-made, durable sling bag with multiple carrying modes. It is constructed out of black, high density, nylon fabric. It features a quick release shoulder strap the makes it easy to detach and move between three different carrying modes: sling bag, cross body and waist pack. The front of the bag consists of very high strength nylon straps, making it very easy to attach tools and other module extensions. The loop area is ideal for small tools, nametapes, carabiners, ect.

Nitecore SLB03 Video Overview:

NITECORE specializes in a wide variety of products ranging from LED tactical flashlights, outdoor lighting equipment, and also specialized solutions for law enforcement and military personnel. According to the company’s website, this sling bag was designed in collaboration with Lii Gear. A Beijing-based company that focuses on tactical and tech-wear products. The shoulder straps and buckles on the Nitecore bag were clearly inspired by similar products designed and sold by Lii’s Gear Lab.

SLB03 Technical specifications

  • Material: high density 500 D nylon fabric
  • Dimensions: 26cm x 12.5cm x 5 cm / 10.2” x 4.9” x 2.0”
  • Weight: 220g / .5 lbs
  • Capacity: 1.6L / 98 cu in
  • MSRP: $69.95

This is a very flexible product with a variety of uses. It is plenty big enough to fit phones, small electronics, wallet, snacks, handgun, ect. The Shadow Bag does not have the capacity of a backpack, but it is plenty big enough to be used on ski trips and short treks. This bag has the added benefit of having multiple carrying modes. Which makes accessing the bag on the move very appealing. I’ve used similar bags on ski trips and other outings where I want the option of being able to access the bag on the go.

The thick shoulder strap eases any burden on your back. Extended yellow pulltabs make it easy to open and close the bag even with gloves on. The bag also has some antitheft loops. As you can see from the photographs, there are bungee cords at the bottom of the bag that are ideal for carrying ponchos, umbrella or even a towel.

Final Thoughts:

My only criticism has to do with the plastic buckle. I have found it can be a bit cumbersome to change between the different carrying modes. That said, once you lock into your preferred carrying mode, there is really no issue whatsoever with the buckle. This is a relatively new product and is only available for purchase here for $69.95.
