Hydro Flask 12oz Coffee Mug REVIEW

December 25, 2023 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Hydro Flask 12oz Coffee Mug

I’ve been a serious coffee drinker since my days in the Marine Corps. Certain situations in life cause you to get comfortable with things you may not initially enjoy. For me that was coffee.

I always enjoyed the smell but hated the taste when growing up.

That was until I was smack in the middle of cold weather training with my unit and the only thing available to keep warm was dumping the packet of instant coffee from my MRE into my canteen cup of boiling water.

From that point forward I learned to enjoy coffee. Now I hardly go a day without it.

With that cup of coffee comes the vessel you choose to drink it out of. There are many to choose from. Depending on what type of material your cup is made from, you may not have the option to nuke it in your microwave if you’re a slow drinker.

I like to enjoy my coffee, so I’m not necessarily guzzling it down.

Because of that, the coffee tends to cool down and you end up with lukewarm coffee at the bottom of the cup. That is unless you have the right type of coffee cup.

Hydro Flask 12oz Coffee Mug

Enter the Hydro Flask 12oz Coffee Mug. I originally picked one of these up to use on camping and other road trips. I have ended up relying on this cup for my daily coffee for a few reasons.

The main reason is that it keeps my coffee hot for a much longer time than any other conventional coffee cup. This allows me to pour my cup of coffee, sit at my desk or move about while enjoying hot coffee the entire time.

The second reason is mostly personal preference stuff, but it deals with the outer material the cup is made of. The outer finish won’t scratch up any table surfaces, it allows the cup to grip any surface so that it’s not sliding around and it silences the sound of the coffee cup on any surface.
